VIETNAM VETERANS of AMERICA, CHAPTER 490 in DES MOINES , IOWA IS LOOKING FOR YOUR HELP! We are currently fundraising to support our veteran's relief efforts and working to place a monument in honor of all Iowa Vietnam Veterans at the Veterans Cemetery located in Van Meter, Iowa. We hope you can donate $25.00, or possibly more , to help us with these projects.

V. V. A. Chapter 490 has been in existence since 1989. We meet monthly, on the 3 rd. Tuesday at the Paralyzed Veterans of America offices. Annually, we conduct both Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies at the Vietnam Memorial located on the state capitol ( east ) grounds; award 2- $500.00 college scholarships; and provide assistance to Vietnam Veterans in need whenever we ca. We also support the Vietnam Veterans Service Program, located in the Federal Building in downtown Des Moines, to file claims, etc. If you are interested in finding out more about our service organization or would I ike to join, please contact one of the individuals named below.
